Shantae

Ah, Shantae! Let me tell you about this absolute gem. Originally released for the Game Boy Color in 2002 by WayForward Technologies, Shantae is a game that truly defied expectations for its era and platform. It's a vibrant action-adventure platformer, a genre that was already well-established, but Shantae brought its own unique flair that has captivated players ever since. You step into the shoes of Shantae, the titular half-genie guardian of Sequin Land, tasked with protecting her village from the nefarious pirate captain, Risky Boots, and her mechanical menace. The world of Shantae is colorful, filled with quirky characters and distinct regions, from sandy deserts to spooky dungeons.
