Resident Evil Gaiden

Resident Evil Gaiden is an ambitious and unique attempt to translate the renowned survival horror experience of its home console counterparts onto the portable Game Boy Color. Released in 2001, this title stands as a non-canon 'gaiden'—or side story—in the franchise, offering a self-contained narrative starring familiar heroes. The story is set aboard the luxurious cruise liner, the 'Starlight,' where a new B.O.W. created by Umbrella is on the loose. After operative Leon S. Kennedy goes missing during his investigation, series veteran Barry Burton is sent in to find him and neutralize the threat, setting the stage for a claustrophobic adventure. The premise of Resident Evil Gaiden was a bold undertaking for the 8-bit handheld.
